Russia’s AvtoVAZ plans to export cars to Czech Republic

TOGLIATTI, Oct 20 (PRIME) -- Russia’s largest carmaker AvtoVAZ plans to launch exports of cars to the Czech Republic, President Nicolas Maure said late on Wednesday during a launch ceremony of a Czech company Brisk plant.

“We are holding a share of about 20% of the car market. And we think we will be able to occupy a larger share of the market, we are able to achieve bigger goals…including the development of the export direction. We are already represented in Germany and Slovakia. We are considering the Czech Republic,” Maure said.

But the date of a possible launch of exports was not disclosed.

Previously, Maure said that AvtoVAZ planned to expand exports by about 50% to about 45,000 cars in 2017.
